The Utkaliya Milita Manch is an apolitical and charitable organization came into being in the year 2004 with untiring endeavors and passionate efforts of some energetic and enthusiastic young people and visionary Odias with an-indomitable desire to serve and work for the people of Odisha staying in West Bengal. It is registered under the W,B, Societies Act. Since its inception, the Milita Manch has been playing a pivotal role in organizing various activities of organizations and has become right forum to ventilate the cause of Odias in this neighbouring state of WB.
The Mancha dedicated to the cause of dissemination of education among the Odia children residing in West Bengal in their mother tongue, The Milita Manch has played an important role to take up the issue of "Education Odia" before the Government of West Bengal and Government of Odisha and has successfully managed to run 22 Odia Schools in various parts of the state. Various training programmes and refresher programmes have been organized to equip the teachers with adequate knowledge and technique to make the learning process more effective.
Various competitive activities are being organized among the children to manifest the profound possibilities hidden within the children, A scholarship examination for Class IV and Class VI students is being conducted every year for encouraging the studious and bright students, In addition, the Milita Manch is committed to spread education among the weaker sections who earn their livelihood.
Odisha and west Bengal are two neighbouring states and people of both the states share same life-style, heritage, vision, language and literature, History and heritage have projected a common hand between the two states and their people, The meeting of mind and exchange of ideas have inculcated a sense of affinity and fraternity between Odias and Bengalese. It is needless to mention that the Milita Manch has been instrumental in improving further the cause of fellow-feeling and understanding among the people of both the states.
The financial transactions and assets of the Milita Manch are managed by a Central executive Committee, It derives its income from advertisements published in its souvenir and different grants are received from Government of Odisha from time to time, Occasionally, the Manch also gets financial assistance from some benevolent persons for philanthropic and other charitable works.
The Milita Manch organizes Utkal Dibas every year in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Odisha in a grand way, The meetings organized on various occasions in the past have been graced by some of the most eminent personalities not only from Odisha but also from Bengal and other parts of the country, Some of the distinguished personalities are:

In addition to Utkal Dibas, the Milita Manch organizes Birth Anniversary of Bhaktakabi Jayadeb, Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, and all the national festivals such as Independence Day, Republic Day etc. The Sharad Utsav is also celebrated with much enthusiasm and fervour.
In 2007 the Milita Manch organized the Centenary Celebration of great novelist of our time Kahnucharan Mohanty in association with Odia Bhasha Pratishthan, Bhubaneswar at Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad Auditorium. Eminent fiction writers, literary critic and literateur from Odisha and west Bengal attended. Eminent personalities like Nabanita Debsen, Dr. Kailas Pattnaik, Dr. Giribala Mohanty, Dr. Kailas Chandra Tikaitray, Harihar Kanungo, Prakash Mohapatra, Ajay Swain, Sriram Das, Late Sures Balabantray, Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik, Dr. Dillip Swain, Dr. Aravinda Ray, Rabi Panda, Suniti Debi, Sarada Prasanna Mishra, Suresh Chhotaray, Kedar Mishra, Tapan Mohapatra, Dr. Supriya Pal, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera, Harishchandra Behera and many other attended the literary meet.
150th Birth Anniversar of Swavab Kabi Gangadhar Meher was organized at Bhasha Parishad, National Library by Odisha Sahitya Academi. The Utkaliya Milita Manch participated and played a very important role to make the occasion historical.
Every year the Boita Bandan Utsav is celebrated at Babughat on the bank of river Hooghly with pleasure and enthusiasm. Thousands of Odias assemble here to recollect the maritime history and past glory of Kalinga.
Inter School Athletic Meet is organized every year among the students of Odia medium schools of Kolkata and nearby suburbs. This year the Athletic Meet-2018 was conducted at Bally Sports Ground. Eminent persons like D.P. Tarinia, D.G. Crime Record Bureau (West Bengal), Mohan Ram Yagnik, President, Bally Jute Co., Smt. Baby Jena, Councillor of Bally Municipality and many other eminent personalities were present and encouraged the students. The students from 23 schools participated in the said Meet.
Every year the Mancha celebrates Independence Day & Republic Day & Organized various competition among the students of Odia Schools of Kolkata & Sub-urbs. Anniversaries in honour of Bhaktakabi Jaydev, Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Jayanti, Pandit Nilakantha in their honour to commemorate their deeds. Birth Ventenary of legendary politician Biju Pattnaik was celebrated at Jinjira bazar & Bhadreswar.
The students of Odia medium schools in West Bengal were facing a lot of difficulties because the text books for secondary students were not available in Odia language. The Milita Manch took up the issue before the Government of Odisha and Government of West Bengal for a long time. After frequent discussions the Government of Odisha have been kind enough to make necessary arrangement for publishing the books and Odia Bhasha Pratisthan was given the responsibility of preparing the text books which have already been published and distributed among the students free of cost.
